Marketing your small business online does not have to be difficult, though it can certainly be confusing if no one has ever been able to explain it all to you. The first thing you need to decide is whether your product or service is specifically focused on people in the nearby local area near to you, or whether you have a national or even global audience for your services. These distinctions are important since the factors that help a business improve it’s local ranking with Google, Bing and Yahoo are a related, but quite different, set of strategies than you would use for selling to the Internet as a whole. Examples of a local business might be a plumber or a restaurant, while businesses in the other category might include a book seller or online service provider that sells digital goods that are downloaded electronically.
